Town Barn

For two years I've been driving past this newer barn in Estes Park and have always wanted to photograph it.
Today was the day -- 50 degrees, sunny and calm.
A perfect photographic day.

The barn stands alone close to downtown, across from one of the resorts, and is surrounded by cabins. I've never, ever seen activity at this place.

Hubby says it was built by a local engineer for his family, and there may have been horses there at one time.
It's been well maintained.
I think this pretty barn might
make a great residence.

Blessings,

Nancy

  5. Wow, it's beautiful! Looks like the wood has a whitewash finish. That is real wood, isn't it?

    1. It's real wood. I'm not sure if it has a gray stain on it or if it is the kind of treated wood that weathers that way.

  6. Beautiful barn! It does need some horses hanging around it though.

  7. Perfectly made barn -- I could live in it (with a little...)...thanks for sharing the sunny Colorado day...cold and sunny at your place today I see (my homepage has all the weather reports of where my kids live and we have some near Boulder). I really love the name of your blog! It is just perfect.

    1. I've always had it in the back of my mind that one day I'd love to convert a barn to a home. I've seen some in magazines and they always appeal to me. I'd have to make sure all the mice were out, though! Can't stand those. :)

  10. I agree. Add some large windows for enjoying the view and it would make a great residence.

    1. There are windows on one side that are really charming. I should have photographed them, but I was tired and just wanted to get home. I'll go back one day and capture them. They're pretty cool. (I know, I know, I should have taken the time to show them.) Thanks for visiting, Kathy.

  11. Great barn. I love those upper windows. Reminds me of my own barn a bit, with the overhang on the right hand side. Our door is reversed. Sadly, ours isn't in this good of shape, having suffered neglect at the hands of the previous owner. We are working at repairing it a bit at at time.
