Sunday Share - Just Playin' Around

It's been such a go-go-go week that I'm devoting today to rest. But I still want to join in the blog fun so I played around with a photo I took on the way home from church. With Picasa and Picknik editing I took the original photo below and increased the shadow, then brightened the image and tinted it. Maybe I did some other things -- who knows? I can't remember all
that when I'm just foolin' around. .
Kinda fun.

This is the original photo.
Our neighbor left her sprinkler on all night. The water froze on her bush and created an ice sculpture. We still have freezing temperatures here at night.
After all, we live above 7,000 feet.

Hope you're having a restful Sunday, too.
We all need to turn down the volume now and then.

Blessings,

Nancy

  1. The ice turned into people dancing. I like to fool on Picnik sometimes, too - I'll miss it. Snow showers and gusty winds here in Breckenridge today.

  2. The first one looks like native dancers to me. Then to discover they are icy branches....that was fun and interesting!

    1. It was even more amazing earlier in the morning, but we were on our way out and I couldn't take the time to stop and photograph it then. Still, it was a fun shot. Blessings.

    1. I like that description. It's fun to receive the perception of others. But that's what makes art so interesting, right?

    1. This was kind of a mindless exercise. I had no idea where it was going, and so it's been fun to see the reaction from visitors. Thanks for your comment, Desirae. It is fun.

  13. These are beautiful! I love both shots, while they're of a still subject, they're also quite dynamic.

    1. I guess that's what I love about photography. I never know what I have until I download it onto my Mac and open it up. Every once in awhile I get a big surprise. :) I went to your website and looked at your gallery. Your work is beautiful. My husband is a visual artist, too. Unfortunately, I did not get that gene. Blessings.

  14. Wow what an interesting transformation! Please forgive me my tardiness in visiting your entry in ‘Weekly Top Shot,’ I have been rather under the weather the past few days, although still working. I'm so glad you decided to join us and share at 'Weekly Top Shot.' :-) I hope you'll come share again next week...
